Can I pay with cash at the venue?Yes, cash, debit and credit card purchases are all available on site. Please visit the Box Office booth located just outside of the venue. Ticket sales close 10 minutes after screening time. Adult Tickets are $22 Children's Tickets are $18.

Where do I park / can I take transit?Parking: Two lots are within a short two minute walk of the cinema: Below Ground: 629 College St, Toronto, ON M6G 1B5 Above Ground: 74 Clinton St, Toronto, ON M6G 2Y3 Transit: The 506 Carlton streetcar stops at Grace and College.

How early should I arrive?All seats are General Admission and are not assigned, so we suggest arriving as early as possible to ensure you get a good seat. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each screening. If you arrive before the doors open we kindly ask you to line up in our designated area along the sidewalk. Come early and enjoy a snack or a drink from the concession stand and take a moment to snap a photo at the festival photo backdrop!

What happens if I arrive late?All events begin promptly as scheduled and the films will commence after a short introduction. There are no refunds for latecomers. Latecomers will be ushered in by staff only at a suitable break in the film, and seating location will be at the discretion of the management.

Wheelchair and Mobility AccessibilityPlease note that although we have accessibility seating, the Royal Cinema does not have ground floor restrooms. However, we have made arrangements with the neighbouring restaurant, Birreria Volo, to allow our guests with mobility concerns to use their facilities. We understand the importance of providing a welcoming environment for all our guests, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We will do our best to make the experience as comfortable as possible. We kindly request that guests with mobility needs reach out to us ahead of time at info@tuff.film so that we can reserve appropriate seat(s). Arriving at the venue before the doors open (40 minutes prior to screening time) would also ensure the smoothest possible experience and give our staff the opportunity to provide assistance and support as required.

How do I book accessible seating?You’ll be given the choice to identify your need for Accessible seating in our online check-out. We will reserve accessible seating for you. You can also email us at info@tuff.film if you require accessible seating. Please identify yourself to one of our volunteers or a Royal Cinema staff member upon your arrival and we will help you to your seat.

Do you have assisted listening devices available?No, we apologise but we do not offer this service at this time. Please email us at info@tuff.film if this is a service that you would like to see offered at future events.

Is there food/drink allowed in the theatre?The Royal has an amazing concession stand that offers a delicious assortment of snacks (candy, popcorn, even fried chicken and fresh baguettes!) and also offers soft drinks, beer, wine, cider and cocktails for your enjoyment. The Royal does not allow for outside food to be brought into the cinema.

Cinema Etiquette: Notes from the Royal CinemaArriving at the Venue Please make sure you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of your show. If you arrive before the doors open we kindly ask you to line up in our designated area along the sidewalk. Please have your tickets ready to be scanned when you get to the front doors or are standing in line. If your tickets are on your phone, turning up the screen brightness will help our devices read the barcodes. For everyone’s safety, please do not come to the venue if you’re sick, particularly if you’re experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19 In our Lobby and Public Spaces During events at the Royal Theatre, our lobby space is reserved for food and drinks at the concession stand. This is to ensure that the space does not become overcrowded and to allow for clear passages for patrons to exit and access restroom facilities. We kindly ask that patrons limit their use of the lobby space to obtaining refreshments and instead encourage socialising either inside the theatre or outside. This helps us create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Please feel free to ask questions—our team is here to help and to make your visit the best experience possible. During Performances Unless event information says otherwise, using a camera or recording device is not allowed inside the auditorium. For the safety and comfort of all our patrons, we kindly ask that no weapons, vaping devices, or outside food and drink bought outside the venue be brought into the theatre. Please be considerate of those around you, and avoid any actions or behaviours that might disturb, distract, or otherwise prevent people from enjoying the performance.

Are there subtitles on all films?Yes, all films have English subtitles. The Children’s Animated Shorts Collection does not require subtitles, as there is no considerable amount of language spoken in these films. They communicate through gestures, music, sound effects and art.

Are there content warnings / age limits?All of the 2024 films are unrated, officially speaking. We have made our best judgments at rating them for audience appropriateness, but please do be aware that it is only a guideline.

ABOUT TUFF 2024The Toronto Ukrainian Film Festival (TUFF) is an annual not-for-profit film festival to showcase the talent of contemporary Ukrainian artists and filmmakers. The Festival features new and upcoming Ukrainian films with relevance on the world stage, including films being screened and honoured by major festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, and TIFF. TUFF’s mission is to showcase award-winning Ukrainian films to new audiences and foster Ukrainian-Canadian collaborations, while fundraising to support Ukraine's present struggle for independence. The festival celebrates a facet of contemporary Ukrainian culture by telling stories of bravery, love, compassion, and fierce resistance, through the medium of film. TUFF was founded by Roman Lysiak in 2023. All proceeds from TUFF 2024 go to Second Front Ukraine Foundation and the humanitarian work of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation.

How much are passes and tickets?Adult Tickets are $22 Children's Tickets are $18. At this time, we do not offer Student or Senior pricing, in an effort to reach our fundraising goals. Passes: This year we have eliminated the Festival Pass but instead are offering a discount code for orders of four or more tickets: use 4ORMORE to save 20%. We feel this is a more effective discount for our customers and helps us better manage out ticket sales. If you'd like to see the return of the Festival Pass, please email us us admin@tuff.film and we will take your request into account.

Are there taxes and fees included?TUFF absorbs the online purchase fees. As a not-for-profit organization, we are not required to charge tax.
